Last Thursday I attended 140′s intimate event ’140 ART deconstructed’, where we were treated to tasty cocktails and a guided tour of their latest project; urban art campaign 140 ART. With the help of twelve local and nationally acclaimed artists, the 140 building has been temporarily transformed into a contemporary art gallery. The building will remain in this state until its multi-million dollar redevelopment begins.
“The art campaign marks the beginning of 140’s transformation into a destination where food, art and fashion collide. Next year a collective of national and international food concepts will sit alongside our anchor restaurant, Jamie’s Italian,” – Kristi Dempster (140 Retail Manager)
Artists Phibs, Amok Island, Pippa McManus and Andy Quilty are amongst the twelve whose works can be seen on shopfronts and walls along Wellington- and William Street and also down the Murray Street Mall.
You all have the chance to win one of twelve signed, framed prints from the 140 ART artists. Just upload a photo of your favourite piece of work to Instagram and caption #140Perth. For full terms and conditions visit www.140.com.au.
The exhibit will run until the end of January 2014, so find some time to go check out the works!
A big thank you to 140 and Peach and Pineapple for the invite!
