Last Thursday marked the launch of this year’s Open House Perth! I joined the team at the The Palace to celebrate the release of its program. Open House Perth is in its fifth year running. I have been asked to be an ambassador this year, so I’m thrilled to be involved in what I believe to be one of Perth’s stand-out events. What makes this event so special is that this not-for-profit organisation is admirably driven by its love of Perth and its incredible local design.
Over one weekend, many of Perth’s iconic design destinations will open their doors for the event. This provides us the opportunity to enter these wonderful spaces, some of which we wouldn’t normally be granted access, specifically a few residential spaces! Through this, we get to explore first hand new areas of our city and immerse ourselves in the talents of our local architects and designers.
This year the event will run over Saturday 12th and Sunday the 13th of November, with over 90 destinations to explore! Visit the site to start planning your adventure, as some locations require advance bookings. And please note, not all locations are open on both days. For example, The Beach Box (number 94 on the list and one that I’m eager to visit) is open 10am-5pm on the Saturday only. I’ll be sharing with you a list of the destinations that I’m most curious to explore in an upcoming post.
In the meantime you can learn more about Open House Perth here.
