Via La Garçonne

Ever since Simone Rocha’s debut collection at London Fashion Week back in September 2010, I have loved everything she has designed. This is just a small selection of her Spring/Summer 2014 collection that are hitting stores now. The marabou trims are so cute! I love how subtle the textural details are with the black on black.

SHOP : VELCRO SNEAKERS

SHOP-VELCRO-SNEAKERS

Sorry I’ve been a bit MIA lately, I have been working on a new project that I’ve very excited to tell you about. But until it launches, which will hopefully be in a few months, my lips are sealed! ;)

Here is a little shopping guide for something I have always had a soft spot for… velcro sneakers. There’s a sense of nostalgia here – they take me back to when I was a little kid and wore velcro sneakers. I just love the look of them, and they’re so easy to put on and take off – such a plus in my eyes. There have been quite a few styles released this season, but here are my top picks…

1 > Marni (Farfetch)

2 > Marni (Farfetch)

3 > Jil Sander Navy (Shoescribe)

4 > Jil Sander Navy (LuisaViaRoma)

5 > Kenzo (Farfetch)

6 > Marni (Farfetch)

7 > Marni (Farfetch)

I have my eye on the black and white Jil Sander pair (#4) – imagine all the shoe/sock combinations! :)

SUMMER 2014/15 SWIMWEAR EDIT

SUMMER-2014/15-SWIMWEAR-EDIT

For many years I experimented with various swimwear styles, including (gasp!) a few overly feminine styles; you know the ones with the over the top trims such as ruffles and lace? Now, I finally feel like I have found the look I’m most comfortable in. I believe fuss-free, simple cuts in dark colours are elegant on just about anyone. Of course, there is the odd bright print that catches my eye, but currently I’m really feeling the colours navy and black. Here is a little edit of some of the styles I’ve come across on my hunt for bathers…

1 > PALM ‘ALOR’ top

2 > PALM ‘ALOR’ bottoms

3 > PALM ‘SUVU’ top

4 > PALM ‘SUVU’ Brazilian bottoms

5 > FIRST BASE Surf Swimsuit

6 > MARYSIA SWIM ‘Evil Honolulu’ zigzag bikini

7 > LISA MARIE FERNANDEZ ‘Yasmin’ seersucker bikini

8 > TOMAS MAIER ‘Athomic’ swimsuit

9 > ZIMMERMAN ‘Porcelain’ quilted bikini

10 > TOMAS MAIER Embroidered bikini

Only just last week I added the PALM ‘SUVU’ top and ‘ALOR’ bottoms, both in black to my wardrobe for the season – purely for their minimal lines and affordable price points. If you’re wondering why I didn’t get the matching bottoms, it’s because the ‘ALOR’ bottoms have more coverage than the matching ‘SUVU’ Brazilian cut – I love it when you can mix and match! If I were to get another pair, I would love to get the ‘Evil Honolulu’ bikini by Marysia Swim for something cute and fun. :)
